Helen was born and raised in Charlottetown, however her yoga journey didn’t begin until 2011 while living in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.
Struggling for most of her life with severe anxiety, Helen found herself coming to her mat each and every day not only for the physical benefits, but also for the effect it was having on her mind and soul, aware that the anxiousness which had always been present was beginning to subside. As she started to feel the transformation yoga had in her life, Helen felt inspired to share the gift of yoga with others.
In 2013, she strapped on her backpack and travelled to Costa Rica where she studied closely with Angela Boltz (founder of Living Flow). After an intense 4 weeks of knowledge, sweat, tears and self discoveries, Helen officially became a Yoga Alliance 200RYT with focus in Vinyasa.
Helen believes the mind, body, soul connection is a sacred one, and one that should be nurtured and inspired. With that mentality she teaches her classes from her heart creating an uplifting, safe environment for students to begin to explore and expand within their own body and consciousness. With a background in dance and performing, she strives to bring a sense of fun and freedom to her classes with a strong emphasis on breath and alignment, and hopes to impart nuggets of yogic wisdom along the way.
